Bali Surgeon Tour & Ride Celebrates the 35th Anniversary of the General Surgery Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

Denpasar, August 17, 2026 — In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the General Surgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, the study program organized BISTURI (Bali Surgeon Tour & Ride) 2026.

The event, which served as both a series of activities and the peak of the celebration, embraced the concept of togetherness through a motorcycle touring activity to Secret Garden Village, Bedugul. The event was attended by General Surgery residents, attending physicians (DPJP), staff, lecturers, alumni, and their families.

The series of activities began with an opening ceremony at around 12:00 PM WITA. The opening was attended and initiated by Dr. dr. Made Agus Dwianthara Sueta, Sp.B., Subsp.BD(K), and was also attended by Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Anda Tusta Adiputra, Sp.B., Subsp.Onk.(K) and Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Muliarta, S.Ked., M.Kes.

Following the opening, participants began their journey together to Secret Garden Village. This tour was not only a means of recreation but also a momentum to strengthen the bonds among staff, residents, alumni, and their families in a more relaxed atmosphere outside the academic and hospital environments.

Upon arriving at Secret Garden Village, the spirit of togetherness was further felt through various prepared activities. The residents participated in several competitions themed around the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, including a kerupuk (cracker) eating contest and a sack race. These competitions brought a joyful atmosphere and provided an opportunity for all participants to relax and enjoy each other's company.

The event then continued with a communal meal attended by all participants. This moment became a significant part of the BISTURI 2026 series, serving as a space to strengthen ties between the senior and junior generations within the extended family of the General Surgery Study Program.

BISTURI 2026 provided a warm conclusion to the 35th-anniversary celebration of the General Surgery Specialist Study Program. Through activities that combined touring, recreation, games, and camaraderie, this year's celebration was not only a momentum to commemorate the study program's long journey but also an opportunity to strengthen the sense of kinship among the entire General Surgery family.

After the entire series of activities concluded, the participants made their journey back. With the spirit of togetherness built throughout the event, BISTURI 2026 is expected to be a meaningful part of the General Surgery Study Program's ongoing journey in maintaining unity, strengthening relationships, and stepping forward together toward a brighter future.
