85th Cohort Surgical Specialist Graduation Ceremony, Thanksgiving Celebration, and Surgical Study Program Workshop July 11, 2026

The Surgical Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held the 85th Cohort Surgical Specialist Graduation Ceremony and Thanksgiving Celebration at the Bisma Hall, 5th Floor Polyclinic Building, Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, on Saturday, July 11, 2026. This event marked an important milestone for the graduates who successfully completed their surgical specialist training and are now prepared to dedicate their knowledge, skills, and professionalism to serving the community.

The ceremony commenced with the opening session, followed by the singing of the Indonesian National Anthem (Indonesia Raya), the Hymn of the Surgical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and a collective prayer. The solemn atmosphere was further enriched by welcoming remarks from the Coordinator of the Surgical Specialist Study Program, Dr. dr. Made Agus Dwianthara Sueta, Sp.B., Subsp.BD(K); the Head of the Department of Surgery, Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Anda Tusta Adiputra, Sp.B., Subsp.Onk(K); the President Director of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Ketut Sukadarma, S.Kp., M.Kes; and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk. Ort. R(K).

One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the traditional salute to the Indonesian National Flag, during which each newly graduated surgeon respectfully kissed the Red and White Flag as a symbol of dedication, integrity, patriotism, and commitment to serving the nation through healthcare. The ceremony continued with the presentation of graduation certificates, remarks from the graduates' representative, and concluded with a fellowship session attended by faculty members, colleagues, families, and invited guests.

Following the graduation ceremony, the event continued with the Surgical Study Program Workshop at Nakula Hall. The workshop focused on the program's vision and mission, as well as strengthening the task forces responsible for the eight accreditation criteria, as part of the continuous effort to enhance the quality of surgical specialist education at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
