The Local Professional Examination, which was held at the Department of Surgery, Medical Faculty UNUD/Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, was aimed at assessing the scientific reasoning power of students in identifying and overcoming problems with diseases or disorders of surgical patients. In this exam, the questions are not recall questions, but are questions related to understanding and applying surgical knowledge and skills, as well as analyzing and solving patient problems to establish a diagnosis and determine the patient's surgical management. The exam questions are adjusted to the standard and format of the national exam from the Indonesian Collegium of Surgery (KIBI) in the form of case simulations. Cases tested included cases of digestive surgery, oncology surgery, pediatric surgery, orthopedics, urology, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic-cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery and vascular surgery.

The success of this exam activity cannot be separated from the various roles of all the staff involved, both during the preparation period and during the exam implementation process. With the implementation of this exam, it is hoped that it can be a provision for students in facing the National Professional Examination which will be held in July and also in undergoing the profession as a surgeon in the future.
